TONY NETHERCUT

With over 20 years of experience in sales and operations at some of the world’s most well-known media companies including Yahoo, DoubleClick, YouTube and AdMob, Tony Nethercutt brings an enviable raft of knowledge and experience to Mojiva, Inc.  His role as General Manager has him responsible for key departments in both Mojiva, the mobile ad network as well as Mocean Mobile, the ad serving platform.

For 13 years, Tony built his career as a TV sales rep and sales manager for the likes of ABC-TV and New World (at which point he transitioned into the digital space with GeoCities). From there, Mojiva, Inc’s CEO, Dave Gwozdz, hired Tony at DoubleClick to develop specialized programs for advertisers and agencies.  The success of these programs garnered press interest and landed Tony on the front page of the Wall Street Journal in ’98.

After his time with DoubleClick, Tony moved to Lot21, a pioneering digital agency, which was soon acquired by Carat Interactive in ‘02. From 2002 to 2006, with a broad range of both above-the-line and digital experience, he joined Yahoo and consulted with major agencies on their accounts.  This ultimately led to Tony being the only four-time Platinum Sales Award MVP during his time at Yahoo.

With these enviable accolades, Tony’s career gained momentum when he joined YouTube as their original VP of Sales.  Tony developed and led the YouTube revenue strategy, along with the hiring and training of the team members in sales, account management, and sales operations up until its acquisition.

In November of 2006, following the YouTube acquisition by Google, Tony joined AdMob as VP of Sales, where he oversaw both brand and DR advertising strategy, hiring and training sales and account management, and advertising operations. AdMob was acquired by Google in May of 2010.

RORY SUTHERLAND
Vice Chairman
Ogilvy Group UK

Born in Usk, Monmouthshire in 1965, Rory read Classics at Christ’s College, Cambridge, before joining Ogilvy as a Graduate Trainee in 1988. After 18 months spent as the world’s worst account handler (as a desperate remedial measure he was once booked onto a time management course, but got the date wrong) Rory became a copywriter in June 1990.

He has worked on Amex, BT, Compaq, Microsoft, IBM, BUPA, easyJet, Unilever, winning a few awards along the way. He was appointed Creative Director of OgilvyOne in 1997 and ECD in 1998. In 2005 he was appointed Vice Chairman on the Ogilvy Group in the UK in recognition of his improved timekeeping.

By an amazing stroke of luck (his brother is an academic) Rory first used the Internet in 1987. Hence he had the advantage in 1994 of knowing what it was and what it might do a few years ahead of many colleagues. Most people would have combined this knowledge of marketing and technology to make a fortune; not Rory. Instead he became the first Briton to have his credit card details stolen online, thereby losing £22.45.

In his spare time, Rory collects self-aggrandising job titles. He was President of the Direct Jury at Cannes in 2007, and was elected President of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising in 2009 for two years. He is also the Technology Correspondent of the Spectator, the world’s oldest English language magazine. You can visit his blog at  http://snipr.com/da9bq

Rory is married with twin daughters of 9 (Hetty and Millie) and lives in the former home of Napoleon III in Brasted in Kent. Unfortunately in the attic.
