Mobile marketing poised for rapid growth in Asia Pacific

Summary: Mobile Internet traffic in Asia has grown twice as fast as Europe,” said Jeff Merkel, managing director of AdMob for Asia Pacific and Latin America, in the recently held Mobile Marketing Forum Asia (MMF) in Singapore. “Asia has seen an increase in impressions from 629 million to 2.2 billion. We see smart phone adoption driving a surprisingly high share of mobile Web usage in this region, with Thailand having the highest number of smart phones closely followed by Singapore and Hong Kong.

Participating companies include AdMob, BDA Connect, Coca-Cola, Google, Group M, Hungama, Indiagames, Microsoft, mKhoj, mobile2win, Nokia, Reuters, Vodafone, Tata Teleservices, Velti and Yahoo.
