OFF PORTAL CONTENT SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP
The Off Portal Content Special Interest Group is chartered to discuss a set of common standards for: Cross platform/ application user experience standardization including purchasing and downloading off-deck content and navigating browseable or downloaded content applications; Content value chain communication standardization – setting up guidelines for interactions among all participants in the content value chain. The purpose of the guidelines are to provide an easy, common way of sharing and delivering content to consumers. These guidelines should advise a structure for cross-participant content programs, including technical issues evaluation (examples of issues to be defined in the deliverables); OEM publishing of timely, accurate, complete and consistent technical specifications for content management on new handset devices; and, incorporation by reference to CTIA’s categorization and rating system for types and quality of content. The focus of the Committee is to discuss and determine steps to remove impediments to the rapid growth of the mobile content market.
