

Atrayee Chakraborty is Vice President, Media Planning, India at Essence, a global data and measurement-driven media agency which is part of GroupM. In her role, she leads the integrated media planning function across all channels for Essence in India. Her remit includes building and training teams to service the agency’s clients, as well as establishing the integrated planning practice in India in alignment with global direction.
With almost two decades of industry experience, Atrayee comes with a demonstrated history of high performance in delivering brand solutions. Prior to Essence, she was Regional Head of Media at Red Fuse Communications, leading the Colgate-Palmolive account across APAC. Previously, she served at Lintas as Planning Sciences Director for key accounts such as Maruti, Bajaj Auto and Idea Cellular, as well as oversaw new business development for the agency. She started her career at Hindustan Thompson on the ITC business.
Atrayee is an ardent pursuer in challenging norms, raising benchmarks and building best practices. She believes that the future of advertising agencies lies in people-centric channels and content strategy, powered by data signals. She is a postgraduate with a Master of Science degree in Economics from Presidency College, University of Kolkata and a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing from the Institute of Business Management, Jadavpur University.
