Irene Umar is the Vice Minister of Creative Economy and Deputy Head of Indonesia’s Creative Economy Agency. With a background spanning finance, venture capital, technology, and entrepreneurship, she has built an extensive career across both the public and private sectors. Before joining the government, she held leadership roles at Standard Chartered Bank, Discovery Nusantara Capital, and W3GG, a leading blockchain gaming ecosystem in Southeast Asia. Today, she is committed to accelerating Indonesia’s creative economy by promoting innovation in gaming, digital technology, and blockchain while strengthening collaboration between government, industry, and startups to drive sustainable economic growth and global competitiveness.
