The Women in Wireless committee has been established to provide a forum for female industry leaders in the mobile media community and to increase the industry awareness around the success of female executives in our industry.

Peer Mentoring Webinar Series
  • The North America Women in Wireless committee has launched a Peer Mentoring Webinar Series. The first webinar was held on media relations/ public speaking and the second was an introduction to Mobile Banking. Recordings from recent webinars are at:   http://drop.io/wiwmentoring 
Amber Alerts
  • MMA has partnered with The Wireless Foundation’s Wireless AMBER Alerts program to raise awareness of this initiative throughout the wireless industry.  The Wireless AMBER Alerts initiative is a free public service that allows wireless subscribers to opt in to receive Wireless AMBER Alerts as text messages on their mobile phones.  Subscribers can opt in to the program in two ways:
 
  • Most wireless subscribers can send the word “AMBER” followed by a space and their 5-digit ZIP Code to 26237
  • Sign up on online at www.wirelessamberalters.org 
  • Enter your 10-digit mobile number and select the area(s) that you want to receive AMBER Alerts.

Dress for Success
 
 
MMA is partnering with Dress for Success!  The WiW committee will host a cloting drive as part of the group's June 8 networking event in NYC to benefit Dress for Success, an international not-for-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by provideing professional attire, a network of support, and career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
 
Please bring your nearly new professional attire with you to the event!  If you do not have any clothes to donate, we will also be accepting monetary donations on behalf of Dress for Success.  Checks can be made directly to Dress for Success Worldwide and remember, all monetary donations are 100% tax deductible.
