Peugeot 3008 Global Mobile Site: Enhanced Touchscreen Functionality

Objective
Peugeot required a mobile site to promote the launch of the new 3008 model in 2009. The objective of the mobile site and supporting activity was to increase awareness of the new 3008 and to facilitate the acquisition of new customers.

Solution
TigerSpike worked with Peugeot and their agency to scope, design and develop the mobile site platform for the 3008.

The mobile site platform had to be built with the ability for the base mobile site to be extended and used by 9 other territories in Europe and around the world through 2009.

The mobile site was also iPhonified, i.e. special features were introduced for iPhone users to provide a richer user experience. This included:

  • Rich content availability – images and video
  • Buttons designed for touchscreen activity
  • Grip Control function which designed to provide an enhanced experience to demonstrate a key feature for the new model.

Traffic was driven through a combination of Television advertising QR codes, SMS call to action, mobile advertising, and competition entry mechanic – the mechanic differed by territory

Results
This campaign has launched across 6 territories – Spain, France, Holland, Italy, Germany, Turkey
Within the first 4 weeks each territory registered an average of 5,000 unique visitors to the site:

  • 8% of visitors used the dealership locator function, and
  • 1% of visitors used the Book A Test Drive functionality (approx 50 leads per territory), in addition to driving people in store.
