Announcement: India Local Council

Since formalizing the launch of the APAC Branch in February 2007, we have achieved the following success highlights:

  • The launch of the Annual Attitude & Usage Study for Selected APAC Markets (November 2008). The full research is available to members only.
  • Collaborated with other regions to launch the MMA Global Mobile Advertising Guidelines (www.mmaglobal.com/mobileadvertising.pdf) and the Global Mobile Advertising Overview (www.mmaglobal.com/mobileadoverview.pdf) (April 2008).
  • We hosted the second annual Mobile Marketing Forum (MMF) APAC in Hong Kong in December 2007 and will hold our 2008 event in Singapore in December.
  • Established new APAC based committees which are focused on developing a code of conduct and consumer best practices for the region.

Building on this foundation of success, we will now launch the MMA India Local Council. The establishment of the India Local Council is based on requests, interest and enthusiasm from our membership based in the India. Our initial efforts will be focused in India and initial emphasis will be on supporting the introduction and growth of the India Local Council to help members drive market growth and the adoption of guidelines in India.

We are currently creating a list of interested global and regional member companies with staff and offices based in India – to form the membership in our Local Council. We will also launch a Local Council membership dues structure (initially for India only) in order to increase national membership within the Council and drive mobile channel adoption locally.
