The Mobile Marketing Association of South Africa Announces the 2015 SMARTIES Short List

July 27, 2015

Johannesburg, 27 July

The Mobile Marketing Association of South Africa today released the finalists for the coveted 2015 Smarties™ Awards for South Africa. The South African SMARTIES Awards are part of the only global awards programme created specifically to recognise best-in-class mobile marketing campaigns from around the world.

Following record submissions and a 141% increase in entries, the panel of cross-industry judges screened each entry with the below entries shortlisted. The final winner will be announced at the MMA Standard Bank SMARTIES Awards as part of Loeries® Creative Week™ Durban. The Awards will be hosted at the Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani in Durban on Thursday, 13 August 2015.

“We were very impressed with this year’s entrants, the number of entrants alone reflects the growing importance of mobile as central to a brand’s marketing mix. The judging panel thoroughly enjoyed reviewing each entry, and one thing is very clear, those that are investing heavily in pushing the mobile envelope are forging much stronger bonds and loyalty with their consumers,” said Yaron Assabi, Founder Digital Solutions Group and incoming Chair of MMA SA.

Judge Chair, Google’s Bryan Nelson said, “Mobile usage in South Africa continues to soar as consumers integrate more mobile technologies into their daily lives. The diverse range of excellent entries this year reflect the innovative ways that brands and agencies are using mobile to transform their businesses and engage consumers at the moments that matter most.”
