ESPN: Manager, Mobile Messaging (New York, NY)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position reports to the Associate Director of Mobile Messaging to accomplish objectives related to ESPNs Mobile Messaging initiatives (SMS campaigns and ESPN Alerts). The primary responsibility of the Associate Manager will be SMS campaign development and execution, project management, and response analytics for the messaging products portfolio including Alerts, text campaigns, and other mobile services. Strong focus will be on developing and implementing SMS campaigns that will integrate mobile into ESPNs on-air programming.
Responsibilities Include:
Timely and accurate status reporting for mobile products and campaigns including data patterns, consumer response, and ROI for advertisers
Design and execute mobile messaging campaigns to meet ESPN objectives by using accepted mobile marketing principles and best practices
Coordination of integration of text campaigns with other mobile products, on-air programming, and ESPN.com
Maintain up-to-date project plans by capturing and communicating changes accurately and efficiently
Manage and utilize customer data with integrity and compliance to MMA guidelines and law
Provide continuous feedback on program status and offer constructive options to ensure program continues to meet objectives
Identify resource and/or schedule conflicts within program scope
Function as an escalation point to keep all parties aware of overall program in order to facilitate management decisions at the earliest possible time
Keep up on industry and consumer trends - monitor the competitive landscape
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications
3-7 years of professional experience with Wireless or Internet industry, consumer-oriented mobile SMS experience preferred
Business or Marketing focus with strong technical background, well developed analytical skills, and comfort manipulating large data sets
Excellent project management skills with a strong attention to detail
Effective communication skills and ability to communicate verbally and in writing with both external partners and internal stakeholders including Producers, Product and Development teams, QA, Marketing, Sales, Customer Care, and Finance
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a variety of technologies, diverse teams, and multiple concurrent projects
Proficiency with MS Office and web reporting tools
Additional Qualifications: experience with integrated digital media, messaging, email, mobile web, mobile video, interactive customer campaigns, or sports media.
Must love sports and have a passion for providing the best customer experience possible
Marketing, Business or related Bachelors degree, MBA preferred
